CLINTON, Ind. (CNS) — Oscar F. Flowers, 84, of West Terre Haute, Route 3, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday (March 26, 1968) at St. Anthony's Hospital following an extended illness. He was a former coal miner and a native of Fountain County. He had lived in this area about 25 years. He is survived by his widow, Maude; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Goodwin of Terre Haute, Mrs. Marian White of Newport, Mrs. Madelyn Edwards of Montezuma and Mrs. Lena Walker of Charleston; four sons, Oscar L. of West Terre Haute, William L. of West Terre Haute, Route 3, Jack D. of Calvert City, Ky. and Charles D. of Hitchcock, Texas; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Louise Wilson and Mrs. Lucille Smith both of Danville; a half brother, Riley Allen of Covington; a half-sister, Mrs. Ada Callahan of Terre Haute; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home where services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Snoddy Cemetery near Covington. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.  --typed by Walt W

Oscar M. Flowers, 84, New Goshen resident, died Tuesday morning at St. Anthony Hospital. Surviving are the widow, Maude; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Goodwin and Mrs. Don Edwards, both of Terre Haute; Mrs. Marion White, Newport; Mrs. Dwight Walker, Charleston, Ill.; four sons, Oscar L. West Terre Haute; Bill, New Goshen; Jack, Calvert City, KY.; Charles, Hitchock, Tex.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Howard Wilson and Mrs. Lucille Smith, both of Danville, Ill.; one sister, Ada Callahan, Terre Haute, and one brother, Riley Allen, Kingman; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild. Services will be 1 pm Thursday, at the Frist Funeral Home, Clinton, with burial in Snoddy Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Ferguson will officate.

Covington – Funeral services for Oscar F. Flowers, age 84 of West Terre Haute Rt 3 a native of Fountain County and former resident of the Stringtown community who died Tuesday March 26 were held at 1 p.m. Thursday March 28 at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial was in Snoddy’s Cemetery south of Covington.  Mr. Flowers died in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute after an extended illness.  He had lived in the West Terre Haute area for about 25 years.
