FLEENOR, Lucy Rayl

    Lucy Rayl Fleenor, 87, formerly of 308 E. Monroe St., Attica, who has been residing at Wesley Manor at Frankfort since 1974, died there Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:20 a.m., having been in failing health for the past six months.   She was born near Pine Village July 19, 1897, the daughter of James and Amanda Hendricks Rayl.  She had lived in Attica for over 60 years.  She was married Dec. 16, 1919, in Warren County, to John C. Fleenor, who preceded in death March 13, 1967.   She was a graduate of Pine Village High School and had attended Indiana State Teachers’ College.  She had taught in the Warren County schools for several years.  She was a member of the First united Methodist Church, Attica, and the Attica Chapter No. 125 Order of Eastern Star.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grady (Mary Ellen) Speer, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Richard Fleenor, Dallas, Texas; one half brother, James Rayl, Lafayette; one half sister, Mrs. Dora Mann of Kentucky and three grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, Saturday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Don Ashley officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Sankey Raisor played selections of “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”,   I Would Rather Have Jesus Than Silver or Gold”, and “How Great Thou Art”.  Those who served as pallbearers were Robert Wolfe, Keith Barnhart, Steve Morrison, Jack Querry, Paul Foster, and Victor Kerkhove. - s
