Attica - Merle C. Fix, 87, of 700 E Main St, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday Nov 3, 2005 at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica. He had been in failing health for the past three years. Born on Feb 24, 1918 near Attica he was a life resident of Attica and attended Attica HS. He married Esther A. Carlson on Sept 18, 1940 in Williamsport. She survives. He was a 50-year member of the Wabash Masonic Lodge 708 which is now Fountain Lodge 60 of Covington. He served several years on the Attica Zoning and Planning Board. Mrs. Fix owned the Fix Hoosier Homestead Farm which has been in the family for 125 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and gardening. Surviving with his wife are a son, Carl Fix of Fairfield, Ohio; two daughters, Beverly Schwenk of Williamsport and Cathy Hiller (husband; Larry) of Fairview, PA; a brother, Dwayne Fix of Mesa, Ariz and a sister, Gwendolyn Burns of Frankfort. --- transcribed by kbz
