Charles E. Fishero was one of four children born to the union of Harry C. and Mattie Chaney Fishero on Jan 16, 1912 in Veedersburg Indiana the community in which he spent his entire life. He attended the Veedersburg schools and was graduated from Veedersburg High School. After which, he attended Askins School of Embalming, Indianapolis and the Worsham School of Embalming, Chicago, Illinois. Thus he became a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director in the States of Illinois and Indiana. He entered into business with his father, making him a fourth generation of Fisheros serving the Veedersburg Community.
He married Esther Youngblood on Feb 3, 1934 in Veedersburg, Indiana and to this union three children were born: Carolyn Sue, Bobby and Esta Charline all at home. Mr. Fishero took an active interest interest in Republican Politics in the county and was first elected to the Corner's Office in 1944; and he was executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Indiana Coroner's Association since its organization. He was elected permanently to this office even after he had served his final term of office as Coroner. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Masonic Lodge, Wallace Low 12 Club, the National and Indiana Funeral Director's Association. He was also active in Conservation Club & Civic movements with the betterment of the Community being foremost in his mind.
Mr. Fishero became ill Sunday evening and was removed to St. Elizabeth Hospital on Monday; there he passed away at 10:55 a.m. Thursday Sept 18, 1958; at the age of 46 years, 8 months 2 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister who died at birth. He is survived by his widow; two daughters and one son; also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lucille Young of Crawfordsville, Indiana; one brother, Thomas Fishero of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his only uncle, Ralph Nelson. Mr. Nelson has been associated with the Fishero Funeral Home as a licensed embalmer and funeral director since 1924. It would be Charles' wish that the Fishero Funeral Home continue; therefore it will be the endeavor of those remaining behind to serve the Community as he has in the past.
His body was laid to rest in the Family Lot in Rockville Cemetery.

Charles E. Fishero, Veedersburg Funeral Director and Coroner of Fountain County, died shortly after 11:00 o'clock
Thursday morning at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.
Mr. Fishero became ill at his home in Veedersburg Sunday and was taken to the hospital Monday morning. His condition had been critical for several days.
It is believed that he suffered a heart attack and other complications arose. Charles had been active in the Indiana Coroners Association and also prominent in the Indiana Funeral Director's Association and was well known throughout the state for his
activities. He was also active in civic movements, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Veedersburg E.U.B. Church. He was interested in Conservation of Natural resources and for many years did much for the conservation
movements.
His sudden death came as a shock to his friends throughout the County.
He was married to Esther Youngblood, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Carolyn, Bobby and Charlene, all at home; a brother, Tom, of Columbus, Ohio and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Young of Crawfordsville.
He was the fourth generation of his family to follow the Funeral Directing profession in this community.

VEEDERSBURG — Charles E. Fishero, 46, Veedersburg funeral director and Fountain County coroner, died at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was taken to the hospital Monday after suffering a heart attack the previous day. Born in Veedersburg, Mr. Fishero was the son of Harry and Martha Cheney Fishero. He married Esther Youngblood of Veedersburg, who survives. Mr. Fishero, who was one of Veedersburg's most widely known businessmen, had operated the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg since the death of his father. He also was associated with his father in the funeral business several years. He was the fourth generation of his family to be a Veedersburg funeral director. He was executive secretary and treasurer of Indiana Coroner Assn. and had been Fountain County coroner since 1945. He was a member of Veedersburg Masonic Order, Low Twelve Club of Wallace and Veedersburg EUB Church. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are two daughters, Carolyn and Charlene Fishero, and a son, Bobby Fishero, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Lucile Young of Crawfordsville, and a brother, Thomas Fishero of Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Veedersburg EUB Church with Rev. Bennett Fulp of Crawfordsville officiating assisted by Rev. Samuel Pritchard. The body will lie in state at the church one and one-half hours prior to services. The Ferguson Funeral Home of Attica is assisting with arrangements. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
