ATTICA — Bessie S. (Williams) Fisher, 100, formerly of 307 1/2 E. Washington St., Attica, died at 4:10 a.m. July 31, 1999, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center, where she had been residing since 1990. Born April 27, 1899, in Shawnee Township, she was the daughter of John and Martha Auter. She married Harley Ray Fisher on Jan. 8, 1914, in Attica. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1957. She attended Fairview and Rob Roy schools. She was a member of the Attica Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Shawnee Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved flowers and her garden. She enjoyed her family and helping others. Survivors include: daughter, Dorothy E. Pearl, Attica; grandchildren, Janet (Jenner) Sundt, Gary Pearl, Rita (Larry) Terrell, Pam Zellers, Penny (Denny) Byers, Herbie Fisher, Beverly (Don) Wissner, Todd Fisher and Debbie (Jeff) Amano; 23 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Harley J. Fisher; a sister; one grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Tuesday at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Harry Randolph officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Memorial contributions can be made to the Attica Christian Church. – jlr
