ATTICA — Mary Jane (Deck) Fink,
99, 503 E. Monroe St., Attica, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at her residence
following her failing health of one year. She was born Oct. 4, 1906 in
Bismarck, Ill., the daughter of William and Alice (Brown) Deck. She married
Ralph Jacob Fink Sept. 29, 1928 in Danville, Ili. He preceded in death Jan. 3,
1977. She was raised and attended school in Bismarck. She later moved to Danville.
In 1933, she moved to Attica where she had resided. She formerly worked at
Radio Material Corp. in Attica and also was a seamstress for Attica Cleaners at
the time of her retirement in 1968. She was a faithful member of the Attica
Christian Church and a member of the Women's Fellowship. She had also helped
with Vacation Bible School. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern
Star Fern Chapter #294. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge.
She was noted for her crafts, sewing and catering weddings with making cakes
and mints. She enjoyed bowling and attending local festivals. She was an avid
euchre player and enjoyed square dancing. She loved being with family and
friends. Survivors include: a daughter, with whom Mary Jane made her home,
Beverly Weigle, Attica; five grandchildren, Lance Weigle, Attica, Robert A.
Fink, Florida, Karen, Leigh Ann and Patty Ann Fink, all of Texas; a
great-grandson, Robert T. Fink, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was
also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Barbara Dawn Fink; a
son, Robert E. Fink; four brothers, John, Lacey, Howard and Albert Deck; and a
sister, Martha Terrell. Funeral services were at 2:15 p.m. Thursday in Maus
Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastors Bob Elness, Matt Hodgen and Loren Hetrick
officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions
