Lafayette—Charles E. “Red” Fink, 72, 2015 Vinton St., Lafayette, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient since suffering a heart attack at his home 10 days ago.

  He was born July 19, 1916 in Warren County. He was reared in Hoopeston, Ill., and lived there before moving to Lafayette in 1940. He was married Oct. 7, 1939 in Lafayette to Nellie Trimble, who survives.

  He was an installer of floor coverings for Reifer’s for 41 years, retiring in 1981.

  He was a member of First Free Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 123, Scottish Rite, Tippecanoe County and Indianapolis Shrine Clubs, Merou Grotto, Moose Lodge 1529, and a life member of Elks Lodge 143 and West Lafayette Fraternal Order of Police 143.

  Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Linda) Roginske, Whitehall, Mont., Mrs. Ron (Jane) Bennett, Lafayette, and Mrs. Tim (Cathy) Goodpaster, Indianapolis; two sons, Charles E. Jr., Colfax, and Stephen A., Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) Bauer, Claytonville, Ill., and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, William in 1987 and two sisters.

  Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel with Pastor Thomas E. Brown officiating. Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. -s
