Mrs. Maria E. FINE, 102, died at her home in Wallace, Ind at 1 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 1962. One of the oldest of Danville area senior citizens, she had been seriously ill 5 months. Mrs. Fine was born March 3, 1860 near Wallace, a d/o Samuel & Catherine Clodfelter Keller. She was married to Jacob E. Fine March 17, 1881. He preceded her in death March 16, 1953, at age 94. For many years he was associated with the Wallace Bank. Mrs. Fine was a member of the Lutheran Church of Wallace and charter member of its Ladies Aid; also charter member of Wallace Eastern Star 415. She was educated in the Wallace Township schools and was active in civic affairs of the community for more many years. For 40 years she provided lodging for Wallace teachers. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clark Jones of Crawfordsville; who resided with her mother during her declining years; two sons, Austin at home and Clarence of Indianapolis, a grandson, Richard Fine and two great granddaughters, Jacqueline and Amy Fine of Indianapolis. In addition to her husband, a son, Earl preceded her in death during WWI and a daughter, Frankie. The body is at the Crumley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church with Rev Richard Graef officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. The body will be taken tot he church one hour prior to the service.
