Fine, Esther Ratcliff
We don't usually include the original obits because they take up so much room but wanted you to see how beautiful Esther was -- inside and out let me tell you. Such a darling lady and her husband, Chauncey was awesome too. I knew them from the time I was a teenager involved with Esther in DAR and Chauncey was our mail carrier. For a couple of years before we moved out of Cville and built a home in the country, the kids would stand on this rocking chair (thank goodness they never fell off but they were very protective of each other) looking for Chauncey and until they'd see him and jump up & down all excited (he'd always wave to 'em) they'd sing - Chauncey Fine, Fine, Chauncey - Chauncey Fine over & over until he came - he thought it was a hoot !!!
