HILLSBORO — Wilma Ruth (Cleveland) Fielder, 70, Hillsboro, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. She was born March 26, 1932 west of Orleans, in Orange County, the daughter of Edgar William and Mable Lydia Wigley Cleveland. She married Owen Leon Fielder Nov. 4, 1955 in West Lafayette. He preceded in death May 21, 1997. She was raised near Orleans and had lived in Indianapolis, where she attended Shortridge High School. She moved to Hillsboro in October 1988. She worked at Galyan's Supermarket in Indianapolis as a head cashier. She later worked as a cook at the Hooks Apple Grove Restaurant in Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Bethel Community Church near Orleans. She loved to sew and crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: four sons, Larry (Chris) Cleveland, Indianapolis, William (Amy) Fielder, Apopka, Fla., Jeffry (Tonya) Fielder, Lake Hideaway and John (Angie) Fielder, Veedersburg; three daughters, Rebecca Mayo, Mosheim, Tenn., Janet Bennett, Crawfordsville and Tamera (James) Anderson, Indianapolis; two brothers, Michael Paul (Anna) Cleveland, Indianapolis and John Robert (Lynn) Cleveland, Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Elizabeth Cleveland, Emily Marie Wiecki and Mary Jane LaGree. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Orleans. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association. – jlr
