Mrs. Judith Ellen Fewrey (Fewry) was fatally injured at 9:10 p.m. Saturday in an auto accident one mile west of Attica on U.S. 41. Mrs. Fewrey (Fewry) was an Attica resident. She died at 11:00 p.m. Sunday in Williamsport Community Hospital of a skull fracture.
Injured in the crash were Mrs. H. L. Plant of Claypool, Indiana, Mrs. Mary Elder of Rantoul, Donna Elder, and Debra Elder.
Indiana State Trooper Donald Wood said Mrs. Fewrey (Fewry), driving alone, was en-route north on Route 41 when her car went out of control on a curve and skidded broadside into the auto driven by Mrs. Elder.
Mrs. Fewrey (Fewry) was a member of the Attica Methodist Church, the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary 2596 and Women of the Moose Lodge 1482.
She was treasurer of the Fewrey (Fewry) Tire and Battery Co. of Attica, assisting her husband in operation of the business.
A native of Garden City, New York, she was born in 1904 and was married in 1941 to Roy Fewrey (Fewry) in Kansas City, Kansas. Surviving are her husband, a son, John Fewrey (Fewry) of Fort Wayne, and two granddaughters.
Services were held Wednesday at the Roemer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Harry Campbell officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - jz
