Relatives at Newtown have received word of the death of Mrs. Helen Campbell Fette, 73, a former resident who died at her home in Palo Alto, Calif Monday after suffering a heart attack.  She was born in Newtown, Sept 7, 1882 the daughter of Herbert and Annabelle Russell Campbell. She was married to Franklin C. Fette in 1914. She attended Crawfordsville HS and graduated from Ferry Hall in Lake Forest, Ill and from Vassar College in New York. She taught in Newtown HS for one year. She and her husband went to China in 1918 where he was professor in the University of Peiping. They revived a rug factor in Peiping, employing 2,500 persons. The Fette Rugs became internationally known.  The Fettes returned to the United States after losing their factory in World War II.  Mrs. Fette is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Barclay Henry of Alexander, Va; a son Russell Campbell Fette of St. Louis, Mo; five grandchildren and a brother James Russell Campbell of Newtown. Burial was in McGregor, Iowa. – kbz
