Charles Jay Fenters, 56 of 524 Pavone St, Benton Harbor died Monday noon in Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient for over a month. He had been in ill health for over two years and seriously ill for five weeks. Mr. Fenters was born May 26, 1906 in Attica, Ind and came to Benton Harbor 25 years ago. He was employed at the Superior Steel & Maliable Castings Co and for the past 8 years had been a foreman there. Survivors include his widow, Norma whom he married July 8, 1957 in New Buffalo; a son, Richard of Attica; three brothers, Fred of St. Joseph and James and Lloyd of Attica; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Givins of Veedersburg, Ind; Mrs. Maude Mattingly and Miss Laura Fenters, both of Attica; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Requiem high mass will be offered Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic Church, Benton Harbor. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph R. Byrnes will be celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may call at the Florin Funeral Home, Benton Harbor where the rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. - kbz
