WAYNETOWN — Elston Enis Fay, 70, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home two miles northwest of here. He had been in failing health a year and seriously ill two months. Mr. Fay attended school in Fountain County and farmed all of his life in Fountain, Tippecanoe and Montgomery counties. He had resided near here the past 21 years. Born Oct. 21, 1893 in Fountain County, he was a son of James and Mary Westfall Fay. He was married Dec. 2, 1919 to Bessie Funk. They were married at Covington. Mr. Fay served in the U.S. Army during World War I in England, France and Belgium. He was a charter member of Waynetown American Legion Post 445. He also was a member of World War I Barricks 1567 of Crawfordsville. Survivors include the widow; two sons, James M. of Crawfordsville and Charles E., Waynetown postmaster; twin daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Simmons of Mellott and Mrs. Betty Gravett of Crawfordsville; a brother, Raymond of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Poynts of Lafayette and Mrs. Jeannette Mangold of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. Myron Hinton officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. --typed by Walt W
