The death of Mrs. Rebecca Alice Fairman, occurred at 3:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Talbert, 1917 Purdue street. Her health had been impaired for two years.
The deceased was born April 25, 1850, in Attica, and moved when a small child with her parents to Iroquois county, Illinois, where she resided until her marriage to Clinton Henry Fairman. Soon after they moved to White county, residing on a farm near Chalmers for 23 years; they afterwards came to Tippecanoe county, where they followed farming until 1907, when they retired and moved to West Lafayette. Mr. Fairman died March 23, 1918. To this union seven children were born, two dying in infancy. Five survive: Mrs. Ella Young, of Fowler; Mrs. W. E. Talbert, of this city; Mrs. P. W. Mason, of Washington, D. C.; S. W. Fairman, of West Lafayette; M. D. Fairman of Chicago. She also leaves seven grandchildren, three sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Fairman united with the Methodist church when a child.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Talbert home at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning. Rev. C. L. Harper, pastor of Congress street M. E. church, will officiate. Interment in Springvale cemetery. – thanks so much to Lena for this one
