Charles "Boonie" Fairfield, Jr 67 of 2016 Leaf Drive died at 2:20 p.m. Friday in Covington Manor Nursing Home.  Mr. Fairfield was a retired truck driver for I&S McDaniel Freight Lines and was an Army veteran of WWII.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended Crawfordsville schools.  He was born Sept 11, 1922 at Crawfordsville to Charles and Bessie Walden Fairfield. He married Margaret Ann Kirts on Sept 27, 1974 at Indianapolis. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters: Linda Ferris of West Lafayette and Beverly Hanthorn and Rhonda Clawson, both of Attica; three brothers: Ernest of Florida, Robert of Linden and Odie of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mabel Clouse of Kingman; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by five brothers.  Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery where military graveside services will be performed. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. - kbz
