FAIRCHILD, Bessie Romine - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Bessie Fairchild of Waynetown, age 78, died Monday evening, November 16, in Covington Manor Nursing Home. She was born near Covington, August 31, 1903, the daughter of Samuel and Susan Martin Romine. November 29, 1922, she married Benjamin Fairchild, who survives.

  Mrs. Fairchild was a member of Waynetown United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Waynetown Eastern Star. She attended Covington High School and had worked at Crawfordsville Garment Factory, for the REMC at Attica and the Waynetown school hot lunch program.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hinton of Newtown; a son, Gale L. of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Fronie Palin of West Point and Mrs. Rebecca Fairchild of Covington; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Ernest Hayden and Rev. Gilbert Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – s
