Covington - Mrs. Verna Marie Coleman, 67, of Covington, died at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been in ill health five months. She was a member of Stringtown Church of God, where she was active in the Missionary Society. She and her husband had lived in Covington since 1963. Before then they had lived at Perrysville 35 years. Mrs. Coleman was born April 16, 1905, in Wabash Township, Fountain County, a daughter of Elwood and Elzada Allen Wilson. She married James H. Coleman on July 13, 1922. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Luther (Mildred) Mycroft of Covington and Mrs. Gordon (Marjorie) Allen of Rt. 2, Kingman; six brothers, Willie, Raymond and Ralph, all of Rt. 1, Covington, and Clarence, Russell and Charles, all of Perrysville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here, with Rev. Herman Small and Rev. Paul Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
