Covington - James Coleman, 73, former postmaster at Perrysville, died at 1 a.m. today in Mercy Hospital at Urbana, Ill. Coleman was a member of the Perrysville School Board that started building plans for North Vermillion High School. He was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He was born in Covington on March 12, 1901, a son of Frank and Anna Cadman Coleman. He was married to Verna Marie Wilson. She died Oct. 25, 1972. He was married to Ruth Shuff Carwile on Oct. 5, 1973. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luther (Mildred) Mycroft of Covington and Mrs. Gordon (Marjorie) Allen of Reynolds; two step-sons, Robert Carwile of Potomac, Ill., and James Carwile of Covington; a step-daughter, Mrs. Larry (Fran) Bumpus of Covington; five brothers, Claude of Covington, Mont of Perrysville, Robert of Crawfordsville, and Frank and Donald of Rt. 1, Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Anderson of Rt. 1, Covington, and Mrs. Grace Wilson of Rt. 1, Perrysville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and 12 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a daughter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with the Rev. Ernest Moore officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. - thanks Ginny

Covington, Ind.—James Coleman, 73, of Covington, died at 1 a.m. today  (May 21, 1974) at mercy Hospital in Urbana, Ill. He had been a patient there five days and ill a year.
  Born March 12, 1901, in Wabash Township, Fountain County, he was the son of Frank and Anna Cadman Coleman. He married Verna Marie Wilson, who died Oct. 25, 1972. He later married Ruth Schuff Carwile Oct. 5, 1973, who survives.
  Mr. Coleman was a graduate of Terre Haute College and was a teacher in his early life. He was a postmaster at Perrysville for three years and later was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He was a member of the Perrysville School Board when the North Vermillion Community School Corporation was formed.
  Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luther (Mildred) Mycroft of Covington and Mrs. Gordon (Marjorie) Allen of Reynolds; two stepsons, Robert Carwile of Potomac, Ill., and Jim Carwile of Covington; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Larry (Fran) Bumpus of Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Anderson of Perrysville Route 1 and Mrs. Grace Wilson of Covington Route 1; five brothers, Claude of Covington, Mont of Perrysville, Frank and Don, both of Covington Route 1, and Robert of rural Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by a brother and a daughter.
  Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Moore officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -thanks muches to S
