ATTICA — Forrest H. Cole, 85, 206 E. Columbia St., Attica, died at 2:43 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2000 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been seriously ill for two months. He was born July 22, 1914 in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, the son of William and Ada Knowles Cole. He graduated from Kingman High School. He formerly lived in Stone Bluff and had resided in Attica since 1993. He had worked as a draftsman at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica. Later he owned and operated Cole's Cabinet Shop in Stone Bluff. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Attica Free Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Post #3318 of Attica. Survivors include: three sisters, Hazel Coffing, Attica, Juanita (Clyde) McElhaney, Hoopeston, Ill., Irene Coffing, Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon until service time at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Marcos Gilmore officiating. Burial with military gravesite services will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to Attica Free Methodist Church. – jlr
