COLBURN, Chris - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg—Chris C. Colburn, 89, a retired farmer, died Friday evening at 5 o’clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Homer Wood, with whom he had made his home the past four years.  Born January 15, 1859 in southern Illinois near Louisville, he resided in that vicinity the greater part of his life. He was married to Amanda Barlow who preceded him in death by eight years. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Wood, at whose home he died, Mrs. Mae Parks of Detroit, Michigan; two sons, Herbert Colburn of Elgin, Illinois and Frank Colburn of Ingrahan, Illinois. There are also nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  The J. Fred Parham Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. The remains were removed to his former home at Ingrahan, Illinois Saturday and services were held there Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Interment was there also. – thanks to “S”
