COHEN, Hezzie - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Hezzie A. Cohen, Sr., 78, Bloomingdale, formerly of Mecca, died at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute. He was born Jan. 1, 1908, in Granite City, Ill., the son of William and Jenny Burke Cohen. He was a retired Indiana State Highway employee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, in April, 1973. Surviving are four sons, Kenneth and Ronald, both of Mecca, and Hezzie, Jr. and PHillip, both of State Line; four daughters, Sharon Thurman in Hawaii; Nedra Wood, Rockville; Dixie Smith, Montezuma, and Vicki Blacketer, Bloomingdale; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Salena Flores, Clinton; Dorothy Kostas, Chicago, and Pearl Goodwin, St. Louis. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes Mortuary, Rockville, with the Rev. Gordon Guoli officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville
