Lafayette - Irene E. Coffman, 80, of Lafayette, a native of Mellott, died at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been ill for a year. Mrs. Coffman was a member of the First Assembhly of God Church, Lafayette; a Past Matron of Fern Chapter, 194 OES at Hillsboro; Past Chief of Pythian Sisters and a member of Dorcas Temple of Hillsboro and past president of the South Richland Home Demonostration Club at Hillsboro. Born Aug 9, 1906 at Mellott, she was the daughter of Thomas L. and Fannie E. Archer Wiggins. She was reared at Mellott and had been a resident of Lafayette for the past year, coming from Hillsboro. She was married June 7, 1926 at Mellott to Russell A. Coffman who died Oct 27, 1982. She is survived by one son, Harold E. Coffman of Phoenix, one daughter, Mrs. James (Shirley) Leonard of Fowler; one sister, Mrs. Lenora Fauth of Mellott; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A daughter, brother and grandson are deceased. Services are 10 a.m. Monday in Hippensteel Chapel, Lafayette with the Rev. Charles E. Hackett officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hippensteel Funeral Home 58 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cander Society or the First Assembly of God Church at Lafayette - kbz
