Robert A. Coffing, 84 of 8089 N CR 850 W, Rossville died Wednesday July 10, 1996 in an automobile accident in Fountain County. He was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born in Fountain County May 25, 1912 he had spent most of his life in Fountain County. He moved to Rossville one month ago. He was married to Violet C. Walton who survives. Mr. Coffing had been a troubleshooter at steel mills. He also farmed. He attended First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed fishing, traveling and reading. Surviving with his wife are: two daughters, LuVada Coffing of Temple City, Calif and Mrs. Alton (Sondia) Shupe of Cheyenne, Wyo; one sister, Mrs. Neila (Argena) Verplant of North Muskegon, Mich and two grandchildren. Visitation was Saturday prior to service in the First Assembly of God Church, Rev. Greg Hackett officiated. Those desiring may contribute in memorial to Nature Conservancy.
