Covington—Norma A. Coffing, 68, Rockport, Texas, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, April 14, 1989 at Coastal bend Hospital, Aranasas Pass, Texas.
She was born Sept. 20, 1920 in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Alvin and Nellie Green Ward. She ws married to James R. Coffing, who preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1985.
She had been a resident of Rockport six years, and a former resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, Danville, Ill., and Covington. She was a graduate of Danville High School in 1938. She was formerly associated with her husband in research and development and later real estate.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, Danville.
Surviving are a son, Stephen, Covington; two grandchildren, James and Jill Coffing, Covington, and a brother, Paul Ward, Springfield, Ill. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Michael.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Allen Phillips officiating. Cremains will be buried in Hicks Cemetery, Perrysville. Visitation will be one hour before the service. -s
