INDIANAPOLIS — Grace Coffing, 96, 7361 North Ritter Ave., Indianapolis, died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000 in Homewood Jewish Home, Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 5, 1904 in Covington, the daughter of Robert McClellan and Charlotte LaTourette Bodine. She married Clint M. Coffing June 3, 1922 in Cayuga. He preceded in death Jan. 12, 1983. She was a graduate of Covington High School in 1922. She and her husband farmed in Fountain and Montgomery counties, retiring in 1966 when they sold part of their farm for North Montgomery High School. They moved to Waynetown in 1982 and she moved to Indianapolis with her daughter in 1993. She was a member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Church, later Waynetown United Methodist Church, Davis Township Home Ec Club and the Cherry Grove Home Ec Club. She was a former member of the D.A.R. Survivors include: a daughter, Reva C. Sahm, Indianapolis; four grandsons, Bill (Debbie) Sahm, Ed (Lisa) Sahm and John (Dawn) Sahm, all of Indianapolis and Michael C. Sahm, Fishers; five granddaughters, Karen (Tim) Peterson, Cecila (Dave) Glass and Kathy (Mark) Francis, all of Carmel, Liz (Jon) Hinard, Chicago, Ill. and Gracie (David) Leer, Indianapolis; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and a sister. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. David Low officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Memorials may be made to Waynetown United Methodist Church. – jlr
