Ernest R. Coffing, 78, of Attica, died at 2:55 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 1957, in Williamsport Community Hospital where he had been a patient five days. He had been ill one week.
Mr. Coffing's wife, the former Jennie May Dunbar, to whom he was married March 5, 1900, died last Sunday, Dec. 8, 1957, at home.
Mr. Coffing was born in Fountain County, March 1, 1879, and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are two sons, Gail, of Attica Route 4, and Orville of Albany, Indiana; four daughters, Mrs. Verdie Sprouls of Waynetown, Mrs. Hazel Wilson of Clarks Hill, Mrs. Cleo Feurstein of Attica and Mrs. Sadie Grandstaff of Muncie, Ind.; three brothers, Fred of Attica, Clarence of Lafayette and Theodore of Crawfordsville, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Dudley of Greencastle.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Linton officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - jz
