ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) - Clarence R. Coffing, 96, of Lafayette, died at 3 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 17, 1970) at the Ross Annex in Lafayette. He had been a patient there since July 1969. He had been ill for two years. Born Nov. 12, 1873, near Covington, he was the son of Abner and Elizabeth Zeigler Coffing. He was married in 1895 to Myrtle Wilson, who died in 1942. Mr. Coffing had resided with a daughter, Mrs. Iva Turman, since 1950. He had been a farmer for several years and was last employed as a carpenter in construction work. He retired severl Years ago. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Reatha Thomas and Mrs. Truman, both of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Sadie Dudley of Greencastle; a brother, Fred of Attica; two grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. EST Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis Haskell will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 3 p.m. Tuesday. - jlr
