COFFING, Alice M. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Lafayette – Alice M.  COFFING, 69, 32 West Lafayette died at 8:25 p.m. Sept 9, 1993 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.  She was born near Aylesworth in Fountain County April 18, 1924 the daughter of Abe and Lucinda Elizabeth East Hunter.  She married Russell Coffing June 27, 1942 at Covington. He survives.  She was raised in Fountain and Warren Counties and had lived in Lafayette since 1981, moving there from Portland Arch.  She was a 1942 graduate of Covington HS. She was a housewife and had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Lafayette.  She enjoyed quilting and fishing.  Surviving besides the husband are two daughter, Cind (Jeff) McKeown and Judy Coffing both of Lafayette; two sons, Darrell Coffing, Valparaiso; Jeff Coffing, Kingman a sister, Martha Hurst, Lafayette; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and six brothers and sister.  Funeral services were held at the First Assembly of God Church, Lafayette at 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Greg Hackett officiating.  B urial was in Union Christian Cemetery southwest  of Newtown, Maus Funeral Home, Attica was in charge of engagements. –-- kbz
