COFFIN, Don W. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Don W. Coffin, age 82, died suddenly Sunday, September 20, at the home of friends in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Coffin, who had lived many years in Sarasota, Florida, were moving back to Indiana. Coffin is an Indiana native and was employed with the Indiana Highway Commission for many years. He was married to Helen Purnell, a sister of the former Congressman Fred S. Purnell, who survives. He was a World War I Navy veteran and a member of Veedersburg Masonic Lodge.

  Other survivors are a son, Dr. Donald C. Purnell of Rochester, Minnesota; a sister, Sybil Van Voorhees of Honolulu, Hawaii, three brothers, Kenneth of California, Jack of Brownsburg and Gene of Bloomfield; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.   Graveside rites were held this morning (Thursday) at Rockfield Cemetery. – s --
