Kingman, Ind -- George S. Coats, 61, of North Salem, a former employee of the North Salem Feed & Grain died at 8:30 a.m. Monday June 12, 1978 at Danville, Indiana. coats was a member of the Scotts Prairie Christian Church. He was a graduate of Kingman High. Born June 25, 1916 in Veedersburg, he was a son of William and Verdeta Stockdale Coats. On June 9, 1938, in Crawfordsville, he married Agnes Sutherland, who survives. Other survivors include 3 sisters: Mrs. Stphen Clark; Mrs. Leon Edward and Mrs. Jerry Moxley, all of North Salem; 3 brothers, Wililam and Francis, both of Waynetown, and Eugene of Indianapolis; a half brother, charles Coats of Indianapolis; a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ray of Jeffersonville; and 8 grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter Funeral Home in North Salem. The Rev. Earl Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemtery at North Salem. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
