Danville, Ill.—Gladys Elizabeth Coake, 80, Route 5, Danville, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville.

  She was born March 21, 1908 in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Henry and Pearl Surface Rice. She was married June 5, 1932 in Crawfordsville to Orville O. Coake, who preceded her in death June 23, 1988.

  She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and Indiana Central College. She had been a resident east of Danville 24 years and Blount Township 21 years. She had been a teacher in Head Start in Danville for several years.

  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel and was a Sunday school teacher for many years and missionary chairman.
  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. David (Jane Ann) Grams, Sterling, Colo.; Rita Marlene Coake, Wheaton, Ill., and Mrs. James (Judith Kay) Baer, Shippensburg, Pa.; two sons, Robert Henry, Robinson, Texas, and Richard L., Route 2, Covington, and nine grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

  Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Revs. Jack Wagoner and Herbert Smith officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. – thanks to s
