Veedersburg - Vernis C. Clore, age 66, of Veedersburg Rt. 1, died Sunday, Aug. 29, at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two weeks. Death was attributed to a series of strokes. Mr. Clore was born Oct. 25, 1898, in Crawfordsville, the son of Laroy and Laurel Coats Clore. He was married May 22, 1943, to Elinor Hannah, who survives. He moved to Veedersburg with his family as a child and attended the Veedersburg schools. He was a veteran of World War II and had been a farmer. He had resided in Decatur, Ill., for eight years where he was a car salesman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 491 and the American Legion Post. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: two sons, Keith of Cincinnati, Ohio and Richard of Waynetown, an employee at the Veedersburg News; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Bodine of Champaign, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Loris Kummer of Veedersburg; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the Sever Funeral Home here. The Rev. Don Weaver officiated and burial was in Rockfield Cemetery.
Veedersburg - Vernis C. Clore, 67, of Rt. 1, Veedersburg, died at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two weeks. Born in Crawfordsville, he came here as a child; attended Veedersburg schools and graduated from Veedersburg High School. He was married to Elinor Hannah in 1943. A retired farmer, he had worked eight years at a Decatur, Ill., automobile agency. He was a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge 491 and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Keith of Cincinnati, O., and Richard of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Bodine of Champaign, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Loris Kummer of Veedersburg.
