WAYNETOWN – Everett Clore, 70-year-old retired teacher, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday at his home six and one-half miles southwest of here. He had been in failing health since suffering a stroke six months ago and was hospitalized three weeks returning to his home about a week ago. Born Aug. 8, 1891, in Parke County, he was a son of Albert and Lucinda Myers Clore. He received his early education at Wallace and was graduated from Indiana State College. He also attended Purdue University. Mr. Clore was twice married. His first marriage was to Mabel B. Hallett, July 4, 1918, at Hillsboro. She died in 1950. His second marriage was to Doris Patton Eggers. They were married July 15, 1951 in Crawfordsville. Mr. Clore was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Hillsboro American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I and taught school 30 years in Montgomery, Fountain and Parke counties. He also farmed in the Wallace area. At the time of his death he was a director of the Fountain County Co-Op and was president of the Jackson Township Farm Bureau. He also served as 4-H counselor at Shakamak State Park two years. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Cronkhite of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Krout of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Betty Hester of Wallace; a brother, Cecil Clore of Wallace; two grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonnie and Earl Clore. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. Lewis Poore in charge. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery near Wallace. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. – jlr
