William Floyd Clevenger, 68 of 1845 E US 136, Hillsboro, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, 1998 in Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis. He had been in ill health since January. Born July 4, 1930 in Mt Vernon, he was the son of the late John Avery and Gladys Irene (Coburn) Clevenger. He attended schools in Mt. Vernon. On July 5, 1952 he married Euna Mildred Graham in Shawneetown, Ill. She survives.
He had lived in Fountain CO. most of his life, but had spent some time in Texas. He had been a crane operator for Harrison Steel Castings in Attica.
Mr. Clevenger served in the US Army from 1952 - 1954; was a member of Marantha Baptist Church of Covington, Lafayette VFW Post #1154 and Attica American Legion Post #52.
Also surviving are: four sons, John D. CLevenger and Marty J CLevenger, both of Hillsboro and Rick J. Clevenger and R. Kevin Clevenger both of Covington; two sisters, Geraldine Greenwell of Mt. Vernon and Georgia Reeves of Owensville; one brother, Charles E. CLevenger of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandchild and great grandchild.
Visitation was Sunday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Service there on Monday with Pastor Bud Stidham officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
