Mrs. Lena Luella Clawson, age 61, a life resident of Fountain County, died in a Logansport hospital at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4. She had been ill three years and hospitalized since July 5. Born in Fountain County April 18, 1899, she was a daughter of William and Artie Newnum McClain. Surviving are her husband, Leonard Clawson of Fort Collins, Colo., whom she married in 1920; a son Leonard Jr., of Cates; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Kiger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Odilla Switzer of Eugene, Mrs. Dessie Bracken of Cates and Mrs. Fauniel Howard of Cayuga; two brothers, Dee McClain of Cayuga and Oscar McClain of Indianapolis and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 7, at the Cates Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev. E. V. Wamsley and the Rev. L. R. West officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Gordon Bracken, Robert Bracken, Harold Bracken, Frank Switzer, Jr., Don Switzer and Harold McClain.
