Covington, Ind. - Mrs. Marie Clark, 77, of Covington, died about 12:45 a.m. today (May 6, 1976) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been a patient three days. Born Jan. 2, 1899, in the Stone Bluff area, she was the daughter of James and Susan Cline Sutton. She was married Dec. 24, 1920, to Ralph E. Clark, who died Sept. 8, 1973. A former resident of the Stone Bluff area, she had resided in Covington since 1940. She was a member of the Maranantha Baptist Church of Covington. Survivors include four sons, Robert of Bethany, Okla., Kelly of Covington, William of Anniston, Ala., and James of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Compton of Indianapolis, Mrs. Jerry (Susan) Grady of Covington and Miss Janet Clark at home; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Frazee of Attica; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a granddaughter. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Maranantha Baptist Church, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Bodine & Shelby funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.

Born at Stonebluff, Ind., she was married in 1920 to Ralph E. Clark, he died in 1973. Mrs. Clark was a member of Maranantha Baptist Church at Covington. Surviving are four sons, Robert Clark of Bethany, Okla., Kelly Clark, Covington, William Clark, Anniston, Ala., and James Clark of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Susan) Grady, Covington; Mrs. Alice Compton, Indianapolis, and Miss Janet Clark, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Frazee of Attica. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. The body will lie in state one hour prior to 11 a.m. Saturday services at Maranantha Baptist Church, the Rev. Herbert Smith officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and one grandchild.
