Cayuga, Ind. - Lane Clark, 67, a prominent businessman and life resident of Cayuga, died at 9 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 29, 1966) at his home in Cayuga. he had been in failing health for several months. Born April 3, 1899, in Eugene, Ind., he was the son of Albert L. and Martha Isles Clark. He was married Aug. 24, 1924, to Leonne Marton of Perrysville, who survives. He attended Cayuga and Eugene schools and started in the auto business with his father when he was 18-years-old. In 1932, he purchased the Shell Bulk Plant in Kingman and was a distributor in the area for 34 years. He was still active in the business at the time of his death. Mr. Clark was a past patron of the Cayuga Order of Eastern Star Chapter, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Zoriah Shrine, Scottish Rite at Terre Haute. He was a charter member of the Lions Club. He had served as trustee of Eugene Township from 1942 to 1950 and was presently chairman of the Collett Children's Home board, a position he has held for the past 12 years. He was a director of the Citizen's State Bank of Newport, Clinton and Cayuga for the past seven years. Mr. Clark was an avid sports enthusiast, especially baseball which was his hobby. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Susie McClain of Cayuga; a brother, Donald of Cayuga, and his step mother, Mrs. Etta Clark of Cayuga. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cayuga Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Frank Jump will officiate. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery near Newport. The Woodrow Funeral Home is in charge. The body is at the family residence in Cayuga where friends will be received. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.
