Veedersburg, Nov 8 (1943) – Mrs. Margaret Citizen, age 32, former resident of Veedersburg, died early Friday morning at the hospital at LaPorte, after a brief illness from complications. The body was brought to Veedersburg to the funeral home of J. Fred Parham, Friday afternoon. Mrs. Citizen was the daughter of the late Dr. Eliot W. Kirk and Mrs. Mary Walker Kirk. Born in Veedersburg, she was graduated from Veedersburg HS and later attended Indiana University. She was also a graduate of the Lake View Hospital nurses’s school at Danville, Ill. She was the wife of Cecil Citizen, formerly of Attica and was employed as a nurse in the office of Dr. J. Carl Freed, while residing in Attica. Mrs. Citizen was a member of the Veedersburg Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star. Her husband and her mother, together with one sister, Mrs. Esther Harris of Hillsboro, survive. Her mother, who resides in Veedersburg is in very poor health. Her father, who was a Wabash College graduate with class of 1899 and who practiced medicine here for more than a quarter of a century, died several years ago from a heart attack. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the J. Fred Parham Funeral Home here. The Rev. OW McGaughey officiated. Burial was at Rockford Cemetery.
