COVINGTON — Virginia Rae Chumley, 61, Lake Station, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 in University of Chicago Hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1945 in Williamsport, the daughter of Ray and Donnis (Shields) Kidwell. She received her GED from Seeger High School and was a homemaker. She lived in Lake Station 11 years and formerly resided at LaPorte and Covington. She served as a volunteer at various nursing homes. She was a former member of the First Assembly of God, Covington, and the Women's Ministries of the church. Survivors include: two sons, Chris Chumley, Indianapolis and Brian (Polly) Chumley, Covington; a daughter, Pam (Jesse) Keller, Covington; her fiance, Doyle Durk, Lake Station; and three grandchildren, Brooks and Graham Chumley and Carson Keller. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. – jlr
