George D. Chezem of RR 2, Rockville, age 64, died Monday morning, February 14, in Vermillion County Hospital at Clinton. He was born at Terre Haute, November 21, 1918, the son of Ralph A. and Mary Wallace Chezem. February 13, 1943, he married Hester Montgomery, who survives. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Rockville American Legion and VFW posts. Chezem had retired after 30 years of employment at Bridgeport Brass Company at Indianapolis.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rita Mae Chezem of Rockville; three sons, Robert J. of Rockville, Douglas A. of Virginia beach, Virginia, and James D. of Danville; four sisters, Barbara Bettis and Sue Schaibley, both of Rockville, Marie Curts of Pittsboro and Shirley Moss of Covington; three brothers, Ralph of Rockville, Frank of Darlington and Dick of Crawfordsville; and seven grandchildren.
Following cremation, graveside memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Garden Cemetery at Rockville with Rev. William Flanigan officiating. Butler Funeral Home in Rockville is in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
