Lafayette—Alva B. “Skip” Cheesman, 91, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, 1989 in Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon, Ohio. He had been a resident there the past seven years.
He was born Dec. 12, 1897 in Lafayette. He was married June 5, 1920 to Clara B. Rhyne, who preceded him in death Aug. 6, 1987.
He had lived in West Point and Lafayette before moving to Napoleon. He was a retired car salesman. He had worked at Tipton, Attica and Lahr Ford in Delphi.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Miller; a granddaughter, Mrs. James (Debra) Rohrs, and two great grandchildren, Jeremy Rohrs and Jenna Rohrs, all of Napoleon.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today in Soller-Baker Lafayette Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Linda Russell-Gerde officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery. – thanks to s
