Neal Chatt, age 80, of Hymera, Ind., a native and former resident of the Stringtown community, Covington Rt. 1, died Saturday, Aug. 6, at his home. Mr. Chatt was born in Wabash Township, the son of Joseph and Scelina Roman Chatt. He attended grade school in that township and then took additional schooling later. He was a retired coal miner and also had been a mine boss in the Hymera area. Surviving are: his wife, Lola; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille Reed of Phoenix, Ariz., and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Jarred of Covington, Mrs. Ann Young of Hammond and Mrs. Grace Riley of Covington Rt. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Hymera. The McHugh funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Hymera cemetery.
