Attica – Harley Arthur Chapman, 70, died of a heart attack at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at his home on Summit Street. He had been in good health and his death was unexpected. Born in West Lebanon, he was married in 1906 to Alice Parent. He was formerly employed by the Public Service Company had driven a taxi and was also in the tavern business for 8 years. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Frank and Charles both of Attica; two daughter, Mrs. Herbert King and Mrs. Leo McFadden, both of Attica and one brother, Jess Chapman. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday at Merryman Funeral Home, Attica. Services there 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Lynn Hieronymus officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Also surviving are three grandchildren.

Harley Arthur Chapman, 70 of Attica died at his home at 11:15 a.m. Sunday Sept 23, 1956.  Mr. Chapman was born Dec 23, 1885 in West Lebanon son of Charles and Mary Keister Chapman.  He married Alice Parent Dec 17, 196 in Danville, Ill and she survives.  He was a member of the West Lebanon Methodist Church and Modern woodmen of America Lodge. He was employed by the public service company also as a taxi driver and for the past 8 years operated a tavern in Attica.  Also surviving are two sons, Frank and Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert King and Mrs. Leo McFadden; a brother, Jess Chapman all of Attica and three grandchildren.  Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Merryman Funeral Home. The Rev. Lynn Hieronymus officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. – kbz
