Mellott - Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at the Servies Funeral Home for Mrs. Flossie Chapman, age 72, a former resident of Mellott. She died Tuesday, March 5, at the Soldier's Home Hospital near Lafayette where she had been a patient eight years. The Rev. R. T. Luddin officiated. Burial was in the Old Baptist Cemetery. Born Aug. 28, 1890, in Mellott, she was the daughter of Elmer and Anna Moore Cecil. She was married Aug. 2, 1921, to Clayton Chapman, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1962. Mrs. Chapman also had formerly resided in Wyandotte, Mich., and Indianapolis. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nellie Arendt of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a niece and two nephews.
