Veedersburg – Charles R. Chapman, 72, 300 N Vine St, Veedersburg died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday Feb 15, 1998 at his residence. Death was sudden and unexpected. He was born in Attica, July 3, 1925, the son of Harley A and Alice Jean Parent Chapman.  He married LaDonna McGinnis Aug 6, 1961 in Attica.  She survives.  He was raised in Attica and Attended Attica HS.  He had lived for several years in Lafayette before moving to Veedersburg in 1991.  He worked as a truck driver and mechanic for Lafever Automotive in Lafayette for 20 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army.  While living in Lafayette he had attended Brady Church of Christ. Surviving besides the wife are three sons: James C Chapman, Denver, Col; Todd Brian Chapman, Lafayette; William Cox, Indianapolis; two daughters, Alice N. Chapman, Lafayette; Tammie (Curtis) Hill, Stone Bluff; a sister, Mayme Jane King, Attica and 8 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bus Chapman and a sister, Mary. Military graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Friday) in Riverside Cemetery, Attica with the Rev. Loren Hetrick officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Lions Eye Bank.
