ATTICA — Hazel Oveta (Osborne) Chamberlain, 75, 201 Hollovy St., Attica, died at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002 in Regency Place, Lafayette. She was born March 26, 1927 in Attica, the daughter of George E. and Oveta Pearl Jenkins Osborne. She married Kenneth Chamberlain, Jr. Nov. 11, 1945 in Attica. He preceded in death Feb. 26, 1995. She was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1945. She loved being a homemaker. She was a member and very active in the Attica Christian Church, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship group. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of both V.F.W Post #3318 and American Legion Post #52, both of Attica. She worked on the election board during many elections. Survivors include: a son, Kent (Mary) Chamberlain, Lafayette; a daughter, Tammy (Mark) Turpin, Lafayette; two brothers, Fred and Marvin (Nancy) Osborne, both of Attica; two sisters, Betty (“Tub”) Pearl and Donna (Bill) Harris, both of Attica; four grandchildren, Michelle Powers, Brandy Turpin, Brice Turpin and Nick Chamberlain; three great-grandchildren, Kourtney Powers and Jordan and Kayla Turpin. She was also preceded in death by infant sisters, Opal and Delores Osborne. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Attica Christian Church with the Revs. Bob Elness and Ed Osborne officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church. – jlr
