Shannondale - Oscar Ceders, 89 of Shannondale died Saturday night in Witham Hospital at Lebanon where he had been a patience since Feb 18.
Mr. Ceders was e member of Christian Union Church and had been a farmer most of his life. He also was an avid gardener.
He was born April 12, 1889, a son of George and Margaret E. Singer Ceders. On Aug 12, 1921, he was married to Lola Gillem, who died May 14, 1939. Mr. Ceders had been a member of Supply Company M of the 151st infantry regiment which served in France during WWI.
Surviving are two sons, Ivan Ceders of Crawfordsville and Bill Ceders of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Margaret) Mooday of Shannondale; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with the Rev. Henry karg and the Rev. Gerald Holdman officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
