  Kingman—Twila W. Cates, 80, Kingman, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 1989 at her home.
  She was born Feb. 20, 1909 in Fulton Township, the daughter of Rolland T. and Anna E. Samuels Wann. She was married in January 1927 to J. Fred Cates, who survives.

  She was a life resident of Wabash and Fulton Townships and graduated from Perrysville High School. She was a member of Waterman Baptist Church and Covington Senior Citizens.

  She enjoyed gardening and helping other people.

  Surviving besides her husband are a brother, Russell Wann, Cambridge City; a sister, Lucille Scott, Circleville, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Paul Ray and Randy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. -s
