Lafayette—Fern Cassman, 87, 1205 N. 14th St., Lafayette, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 1989, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She had been ill three weeks.
She was born Feb. 27, 1901, at Crawfordsville, the daughter of Grant and Mary Wilson Weaver. She had lived her early life in Crawfordsville, but lived most of her life in Lafayette. She was first married to Albert Goltra. She was married Oct. 31, 1927 in Lafayette to Clarence Cassman, who preceded her in death in 1932.
She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. She was a former beautician at Lafayette and also formerly had a newsstand at the Lahr Hotel.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marcos (Beverly) Rodriguez, Lafayette; two sons, Allen Eugene Goltra, Stewart, Fla., and Robert W. Cassman, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Entombment service was at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Lafayette for Fern Cassman, 87, 1205 N. 14th St., Lafayette, with the Rev. Taylor Sharp officiating. She died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
